Samuthirakani Makes his Malayalam Debut

Following Prabhu and Sarath Kumar’s lead, director Samuthirakani, is set to make his Malayalam debut. Samuthirakani directed the recent success Naadodigal, which also had a Telugu remake, Shambo Shiva Shambo, by the director himself.

He will be debuting in Malayalam with Mohanlal’s film, Shikar. It is directed by Padmakumar. Apparently, he was recommended by Mohanlal for the role. Mohanlal was impressed by Samuthirakani’s acting in Subramaniapuram and the way he portrayed a villainous politician, thus recommending his name to Padmakumar.

Mohanlal’s role in Shikar is that of a lorry driver named Balaraman, who transports goods between cities in South India. Samuthirakani’s role in Shikar is as important as Mohanlal’s role. Ananya, who played the female lead in Naadodigal, will be playing Mohanlal’s daughter while Lakshmi

Gopalasamy plays his wife. It has started shooting in Kothamangalam, Idukki, and is slated to be Mohanlal’s big Onam release in September.

Samuthirakani has earlier acted in Tamil films like Parthale Paravasam, Paruthi Veeran, Subramaniapuram and did a special appearance in his Telugu film, Shambo Shiva Shambo.
